First and foremost, I would like to greet everyone a Happy New 2008 Year. Another year with lots of discoveries and undying challenges. Glad that we are again moving forward to another stage of our lives. And with that, I have a not so good news to you guys. So here it goes. I am giving away another Desktop Wallpaper.
The Ang Pilipino GIMP’s 2008 starter special edition wallpaper completely inspired by a Professional Designer, Fabio Sasso, a Brazilian designer living in Porto Alegre (south of Brazil) and is famously called Abduzeedo through his blog with tons of compelling and straightforward Graphic Tutorials.
It all started when I saw his blog having not only PS tutorials but also GIMP tutorials. To mention a few are the Leopard’s Aurora Borealis Wallpaper in GIMP and GIMP Galaxy. And then I saw his PS tutorial on making Leopard Starburst effect in Photoshop and I said…
Wow, can I possibly do this kind of effect using GIMP? Why not give it a try. Sigh….
So it was after all a source of inspiration to kick start and doodle.
To my visitors, you could download this artwork, treat is as your own, use it commercially or personally, modify and make derivatives of it and distribute if you want to. This is under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0, and if you give me credit or just say a simple “thank you” then that would make me happy.

If you got an Ubuntu, a bluetooth, and a k600i phone, and you wanted to work on it as smoothly as possible then this guided tutorial is for you.
Originally posted and a much credited effort for the tutorial of Cholis on Ubuntu + Bluetooth + k600i.
If you can’t understand the language on Cholis‘ Blog, don’t worry ‘coz he was really kind enough to supply an English version of his tutorial and personally emailed me.
Download the pdf file of his English version: Ubuntu_Bluetooth_K600i.pdf
It’s really amazing that the philosophy and meaning of Ubuntu is really present in the internet superhighway. Ubuntu is an African word meaning ‘Humanity to others’, or ‘I am what I am because of who we all are’. The Ubuntu distribution brings the spirit of Ubuntu to the software world. (What is Ubuntu?, http://www.ubuntu.com/products/whatisubuntu, 2007)
Did I get it right?
To Cholis, Thank you.

Last night, I was informed by a friend that the release of Ubuntu Studio 7.04 (along side Feisty Fawn) was already at hand.
I said WOW! Let me check it out. Even for the fact that I am currently using the latest bleeding edge Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn), I am terribly waiting for the release of Ubuntu Studio since I myself is an artist. Sigh…. what’s the relation?
Ok… Just a little info. Now what is Ubuntu Studio? Its a multimedia creation flavor of Ubuntu that is aimed at the GNU/Linux audio, video and graphic enthusiast as well as professional. Now thats the relation.
Back to my quest for Ubuntu Studio.
When I visited their site (http://ubuntustudio.org) yesterday, This is what I got.

And still and until today this is the case. To date, May 12, 2007.
Well, it didn’t suprised me ‘coz when Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) was released, the Ubuntu’s website was really on a traffic. Now this is a good implication that there are lots of enthusiasts out there that were patiently waiting for the release of Ubuntu Studio. Cheers!
Ok… Ok.. Ok… That really made me overwhelmed of happiness because Linux particularly Ubuntu and specifically Ubuntu Studio is really SOMETHING.
Since the Ubuntu Studio site is “down” temporarily or maybe on a heavy web super highway traffic, Here’s for you.
If you really want to download your copy of the Hottest Ubuntu Studio but can’t find any site/mirror that lets you get a copy, I prepared these links below for you to check out.
(1) A lot of torrent to choose from: http://www.ubustu.com/globe/2007/05/11/download-mirrors-for-ubuntu-studio/
(2) Another torrent to choose from: http://www.sumotorrent.com/searchResult.php?search=ubuntustudio.
(3) And if you don’t have a torrent client, well here is for you, a F/OSS Java BitTorrent Client Azureus – http://azureus.sourceforge.net/
Enjoy everyone and lets Break On Through to the Other Side of the future of computing.
