Ang Pilipino GIMP

Evangelizing GNU Image Manipulation Program

hello world, i’m joining wordcamp, davao

How do we define blog? What do you think? Well, as for me, my direct answer for that is… WordPress = Blog. But wait, allow me to create another formula, Blog + Web Design = WordPress. Is it? Take a look at any Web Design Gallery that showcases stunningly designed web sites, and you’ll be surprised that a lot of those sites run WordPress underneath.

I’ve been maintenaining (not that frequent) Ang Pilipino GIMP for almost 2 years now. Even though I’m not hosting my own WordPress site, I’ve seen and noticed a lot of tremendous changes particularly on its User Interface Design overhauled by this great Design Firm Happy Cog. Not only that, I’ve also noticed that WordPress is very much particular on Web Standards. I guess that’s where they base a tag line called Code is Poetry and that is probably why your WordPress sites are search engine friendly too.

Moving on, here comes a great gathering for people that’s in to WordPress-ing. It’s called Wordcamp. It did interest me for Davao is participating this said event through these organizers WordCamp Philippines 2008 & Mindanao Bloggers. Kudos for these guys for making an avenue for Wordcamp in Davao. This would be a great opportunity for me to know more the underlying technologies and design strategies behind WordPress. Not only that, the founder of WordPress will also be there (more details on this). Whew, that will be totally an amazing part of the event.

I have to personally thank the core organizers of this event, WordCamp Philippines 2008, Mindanao Bloggers, and lastly the undying support of the it’s sponsors.

See you when I see you.
