Wanna know the capabilities of GIMP on create animations? You should be interested on GAP, the GIMP Animation Package. GIMP.org recently released a new version specifically for the GIMP 2.4 release. Users who are not familiar with building software from source code are advised to wait for binary packages to become available.
As for my case, since I am using Ubuntu 7.10, I will just have to wait for the Ubuntu Devs to port the new release of GAP. Hopefully they can send updates on this. Just like when I upgraded on Ubuntu 7.10, GIMP 2.4 was only of a release candidate. But patience was the game to make my system clean. It took quite some time that they ported the final release but the wait was really worth it.
Till then. Got to tell you guys that I am really really excited on GIMP 2.6. I know it’s kind of early but I hope, sooner or later GIMP 2.6 will be on its way. Just have fun on your current stable release. Remember, “Time flies when you’re having fun.”
