Ang Pilipino GIMP

Evangelizing GNU Image Manipulation Program

Our first search of the GIMP

I googled some GIMP blogs (gimp + blogs) just to confirm if the search engine results were GIMP friendly or in favor with…… and….. Open sesame… here’s what I found. The first ever tutorial I’ve searched on GIMP. It’s practically a web 2.0 thing.

But the man behind this tutorial appears to have a strong point with regards to his statement.

There are many tutorials about creating buttons and graphics in the new ‘Web 2.0′ style. Unfortunately, all these tutorials are for Photoshop users. The Gimp users are completely ignored. So, I have decided to correct this error – this is a tutorial on how to create a Web 2.0 style button in Linux using Gimp(will work in windows as well)(Binny V A).

I definitely agreed to him.

A given scenario will happen when: A user googled for some web 2.0 tutorial using GIMP. Let’s say “web 2.0 + gimp” search key then the results would show that GIMP users are completely ignored or not in the mainstream I should say. Yes, you’re exactly right. “CURRENTLY”, GIMP is considered as an alternative image manipulation tool by the many. But hey, don’t count me in. I am using GIMP on my Web tasks, Photo Manipulation, Image enhancements and more.

Enough to this and let us look at these links, the tutorials provided by Binny V A. Let’s looked at it in a brighter side. This is completely a touch of a guerrilla GIMP enthusiast whose concern was to help you… Future GIMP users to deliver your web works using GIMP in the F/OSS scenario.

Enjoy everyone and happy GIMPing.

What can you say about my work? Hehehe. I will take all your criticisms. Thank you in advance.

At the moment, I’ll be searching for blog entries in the web and tutorials. And since I am currently busy at my work, I’ll sure be posting my own tutorials in nearest future.
